For my magazine I will be using a tri-colour scheme that will hopefully consist of white, black and red. I think that these colours contrast effectively and popular magazines like Rolling Stone and NME also use them which tells a bit about what genre/s of music my magazine will cover. The colour red also has connotations of anger and passion which is also associated with the punk/rock/alternative/metal genres. I plan to place my main image in the centre of the page slightly overlapping the masthead as I think this makes the magazine look more professional and draws more attention. I will make sure that my sell lines do not overlap the model's face in my main image and the first one I have placed is to the left just below the masthead as conventionally we read from left to right so it is the third thing the viewer will notice (1st = Main Image, 2nd = Masthead). I will put smaller images to the right hand side of the page which will be anchored by sell lines just below them, giving them a purpose on the page and drawing the reader in. An enigma code has been placed just below the first sell line to entice the viewer and to make them carry on reading the cover and also the magazine itself. The main sell line will relate to the main image or elaborate slightly on the enigma code to tease the audience.
